How it works

Four steps, one envelope

This is a slow project on purpose. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.

  1. 01

    I sketch a city

I pick one place a month and spend real time in it — a bench, a rooftop, a bus stop. The drawing happens on location, in ink and watercolour, weather permitting and sometimes not.

  2. 02

    The month's edition is made

The sketch becomes the postcard. I write the story card about the street corner it came from, choose a small collectible from the trip, and write the letter last, when I still remember how it felt.

  3. 03

It's packed and posted from Saudi Arabia

Everything is stuffed by hand into a kraft envelope, stamped, and taken to the post office here. Saudi addresses ship free; international shipping is charged at cost by region.

  4. 04

It arrives as a piece of the journey

Some months it's quick, some months the mail takes its time. Either way, what shows up is a small physical thing from somewhere else — yours to pin up, or send on to someone.
